Veteran Ghanaian movie star George Williams is reportedly dead.

Mr. George's untimely demise according to a confirmed report on Peace FM News@12, occurred at the Korle-bu Teaching hospital on Monday morning, August 1, 2016.

The cause of his death is not immediately known.

Known for distinguished roles in movies such as Genesis Chapter X, Dogo Yaro, Bloody Kids, Mama and TV series, Ultimate Paradise, Uncle George said he feels sad for our recent movies. To him, they are not the best.

With his eloquence and articulation, Uncle George spent most of his working time as a broadcaster, changing roles between the Ghana Broadcasting Corporation (GBC), then as the head of presentation for the Sierra Leone Broadcasting Service (SLBS) and also having a stint with the Nigeria Broadcasting Corporation. He also did some freelance jobs for Liberian Broadcasting Corporation.

Uncle George was born in 1929 to a famous lawyer, Francis Awoonor Williams whose ancestors are from Sierra Leone and his late mom, Nora Rosemond Awoonor Williams.

He started his secondary education at the Aggrey Memorial School in the Central Region, then to the Achimota Secondary School before ending up at Adisadel College in 1941.

After leaving Adisadel College in 1945, he became a Lab Assistant at the Physics Lab in Achimota for almost two years.

In 1947, he left for England where he enrolled at the Balham & Tooting College of Commerce.

Uncle George, with some of his colleagues, started performing gigs in nightclubs just as they played piano and drums for some of the top-gun dancers and musicians of the time.

He continued to explore and further acquainted himself with all the areas of showbiz. He then went to the Buddy Bradley's School of Stage Dancing at the west end of London, one of the famous schools at the time, to learn how to dance but surprisingly, ended up acting rather.

Uncle George left behind five children.

The self-proclaimed dancehall king made this statement during his recent ‘part2’ interview on Delay’s show, when the presenter referenced speculations in relation to Shatta being tagged a ‘low spender’ when it comes to living the luxury life.


According to Shatta Wale, he doesn’t spend ‘anyhow’, ‘when I step out people buy stuff for me so I usually don’t even carry cash around’’, he told Delay.


Shatta Wale also labelled himself as someone who isn’t the ‘party type’, he stated that though as celebrities they are usually seen in exotic wheels and what not, the real money may be little so he would rather build and make properties with his earnings. 


He further cautioned Criss Waddle and his gang of fraudsters to be careful as his flashy cars and property would be seized if the law should catch up with him.


The dancehall artist also quizzed about how Criss Waddle would account for his properties since it is obvious music isn’t what pays for his lifestyle like himself.

When my boss heard of
the cost of operation,he refused to pay since the bill was highly cost.
My life was
in danger,i knew of one person who will always be with me no matter my bill and my condition. - I went on my knees and said ' "God i know I cant perform miracles but it doesn't mean u cant hear my
prayers, come down and help me ooh!! lord...." and exactly 5
mins after, i was taken to the labour ward and
gave birth without any operation or any
complications.
All doctors were surprised and 2 doctors got saved. I'm now having my beautiful baby in my hand nd miraculously the
Indian man paid all the bills am now at boss's house with my baby.
